Yes, Virginia, you still have time to make a holiday gift that comes straight from your heart. Or, if you're the industrious type, you can swap your handiwork for something equally wonderful. AIGA Colorado and Fancy Tiger are hosting tonight's Craftworks Trading Party, which mashes up the making and the trading, so everyone goes home happy.

Bring a handmade to trade if you have it, or work on your project there; Fancy Tiger also carries lots of cute, pre-packaged crafts that you can create on the spot. And then you trade 'em -- unless you've fallen completely in love with what you dragged into the fray.

But wait. There's still another alternative: Drink and Draw, a loose ongoing gathering that does just what it says, will also be gathering at Fancy Tiger tonight, complete with customizable blank cards.

The combined events are free, but $2 beer and punch will be available for those who are of age. And there's also that requirement of bringing something handmade to trade -- which shouldn't be a problem, since it's the whole point of going in the first place. But first, remember to RSVP on the AIGA website.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
