Lucidity Suitcase International came to Buntport Theater last October with Microworld(s) Part #1, the tale of a Serbian intellectual named Milo and his best friend, a rubber duckie named Fumio, who wrestled with the demolition of his capsule-pod apartment building in Tokyo. “In Part #1, Milo was wondering whether he should go down with the building as it implodes,” explains Thaddeus Phillips, Lucidity Suitcase’s artistic director (and the man who plays Milo). “And he has a dumb idea to go to Brazil and get a micro loan and put a shadow-puppet theater on the back of a bicycle.”

Well, in Microworld(s) Part #2: The Undiscovered Country, Milo does just that. “Part 2 is a big, sprawling adventure, and the whole thing kind of becomes this surreal cartoon,” Phillips says. “The whole set is made from recycled trash that we found — old painting tarp and plastic bottles. It’s really like a big, cinematic epic.” Will there be a Microworld(s) Part #3? “There’s room for a sequel,” Phillips admits. “It feels like a film, even though it’s very theatrical. It’s a very bizarre project.”
