Denver is no stranger to pit bull controversy. As one of the pit-bull hotbeds of the country, the city has seen breed-specific legislation prevent the animals from residing within city limits. But tonight, director Libby R. Sherrill hopes to enlighten residents of Denver with a special, one-night-only screening of her doggie documentary, Beyond the Myth.
The film, which starts at 7 p.m., examines the widespread stigmas attached to pit bulls and investigates the science behind how the dogs behave. Sherill will be in attendance at the Mayan, as will other filmmakers. Tickets to the show can be purchased at LandmarkTheaters.com or at the Mayan box office.
