Pretty much everybody in this video stars in your moment of schadenfreude

In most moments of schadenfreude, there's one pretty clear loser: the guy who launches himself bodily at a wall, for example, or the dumbass trying to do tricks on a Segway. These people fail, and everyone -- including the other people in the video -- has a good laugh at their self-inflicted misfortune. Other times, the behavior of everyone involved in the situation is so utterly baffling that it's hard to even be certain whom we're supposed to be laughing at -- and also whether we should be laughing or crying, for America, because we are a nation of buffoons.

Let's just get this right out of the way: what the fuck is going on here? Is this like auditions for the middle-school theater department's fully-clothed adaptation of The Human Centipede? Because if so, gross.

Also, if not, gross.

Then, as if the scene weren't weird enough, who is this guy leaping through the air? Furthermore, how do these people -- faces buried in each other's asses as they are -- know he's coming to get out of his way? And then why does everybody run away? Even if there were somebody around to answer them, these questions will probably never be definitively resolved. Some things are just too dumb to explain.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
