Warm Cookies of the Revolution, Denver’s one and only “civic health club,” is offering an intense training program in advance of the upcoming elections: the Two-Day Civic Workout: Show Us Your Muscles. “People can come to either or both of the days, and they are interrelated,” explains organizer Evan Weissman. “After day one, people are going to walk away with practical information about the election. They will have learned something, and we’re going to do it in a really fun, irreverent way. We’ll also be looking at how to improve elections.

“For day two, we’re going to discuss all the other ways that you can be active as a citizen,” Weissman continues, “because voting is literally the least you can do. The Colorado Civic Health Index was just released; we’re going to go over that a little bit and see where we are, and we’re going to have a commitment ceremony to commit to doing something for the community — like a wedding ceremony, but you can marry your community.”

The two-day workout starts tonight at 7 p.m. at Buntport Theater, 717 Lipan Street, and continues tomorrow night; admission is free. Visit warmcookiesoftherevolution.org for details or to RSVP
