Some art is timeless.

And so it goes with "White People With Dreads: A field guide," which Jef Otte created over a year ago, but keeps attracting comments from dreadlock enthusiasts.

Creditcard hippie is just the latest to discover the post, and weighs in with this critical review of one of the women in that field guide:

Creditcard hippie is just the latest to discover the post, and weighs in with this:

That first girl is freakin beautiful man. Can't all you people just get over yourselves? White people honestly don't want to steal anything from you, and us "credit card hippies" aren't exactly the conformists to do a hairstyle just to "be a hippie" or because we wanna be like the black man. Maybe we just like the hairstyle? Think about that next time you see a black guy in skinny jeans on a skateboard and think it's completely natural. P.S: does it mean that i'm trying to be black when I listen to Marley? cuz if so you can paint me black and call me Leroy, or Jamal, or whatever. Peace out man.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
