The Colorado Renaissance Festival in Larkspur is safe from wildfires and will be open with free admission for children 12 and younger this weekend only.

We'll be there photographing our favorite costumes and chowing down on our latest obsession, turkey legs. Festival-goers can enjoy a 16th century marketplace with over 200 artisans, food and drink "fit for a king," ten stages of continuous entertainment and a new endangered cat show. In celebration of Children's Weekend, the festival has special activities planned for the little ones, including a Prince, Princess and Pirate party.

Festival Will Be Open! Children are Free This Weekend Only! June 30 & July 1st It's Affordable Family Fun!

Children 12 and under are FREE this weekend only at The Colorado Renaissance Festival in Larkspur.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people who have suffered losses and who are battling these horrible fires. We thank all those who are doing the best they can for all of us.

Fortunately, the festival is safe and we look forward to a weekend where we can take people to another time and place of enjoyment! Our realm will be open.

Hi-Lighting the 2012 Festival: The NEW Endangered Cat Show! Exciting, Educational, Exotic and Enthralling! The Big Cats, (and some small ones too), will Thrill audiences with their power and majesty! The Great Cats World Park/Center for Endangered Cats is Proud to present their "Ambassadors to the Wild" in an Exciting and Educational show featuring the dynamic Athletic Abilities of these Amazing Felines, as well awareness for these Rare and Endangered Species. In celebration of CHILDREN'S WEEKEND special activities for the young ones have been scheduled. A Prince, Princess and Pirate Costume Contest at the Puke & Snot Pirate Ship Stage, participate in the Royal Quest and be rewarded by King Henry at the special Knighting ceremonies; The Rocky Mountain Raptors, Falconry program will all be in attendance to create a special atmosphere that children will remember for years to come. Plus, Twig the Fairy... This Enchanting Musical Fairy makes her return to Colorado. Festival Favorites; The High Flying King's Catapult Ride, the Free Children's Realm plus face painting, hair braiding, and rides such as the Worlds Largest Rocking Horse, the Giant Swing and Leonardo de Vinci's Flying Machine to name a few.

Festival goers will enjoy a 16th Century marketplace filled with over 200 juried artisans displaying their affordable arts and crafts, and food & drink fit for a King, plus ten stages offering continuous entertainment daily.

Adult Admission is $18.95 with discount tickets available at all participating King Soopers. Discount coupons are also available at Wendy's and Diamond Shamrock Corner Stores throughout the Front Range and Colorado Springs. Children ages 5-12 are $8.00 and children under 5 are free.
