The Godfather has an offer you can't refuse. Actually, that's the Colorado Photography Learning Group, which is bringing award-winning photographer Rick Sammon -- officially known as the Canon Explorer of Light and unofficially as The Godfather -- to the University of Denver's Davis Auditorium on Saturday, August 2 for "A Day With Rick Sammon," a photography workshop that will only set you back $10. If you're a local artist who hangs (or aspires to hang!) your work around town, this is a great chance to advance your skills.

Don't worry: This workshop isn't merely a slide show of pretty images. Sammon will also cover seeing the light, controlling the light, playing with the light, HDR photography and some composition techniques. And he'll share some of his favorite Lightroom and Photoshop enhancement tips. Continue reading for more on the upcoming Rick Sammon workshop
Everyone at the workshop will receive one raffle ticket, with extras available for purchase, for some valuable door prizes -- including a one-year Adobe Creative Cloud subscription worth $600, two copies of Photographer's Toolkit DVD, a Transit Backpack 350AW, a CityWalker 20 shoulder bag from Think Tank, autographed copies of Sammon's book, and much more. The morning session runs 9 a.m. to noon, with an afternoon session from 1 to 4 p.m. Lunch -- a sandwich, side, and drink -- can be purchased in advance for $15, or participants may bring their own. Event parking is available on campus for $8 per car, and there is also a Park-n-Ride lot at the DU RTD stop.
