Forget the hype: The AFC West deciding meeting between the underachieving Broncos and Chargers is likely to be disappointing no matter who wins. The real season-ending match-up to get excited about is tonights
Rocky Mountain Rollergirls vs. the San Diego Derby Dolls bout. An all-star team made up of members of Rollergirl teams 5280 Fight Club and the Contenders will face a team of San Diegos best in a bruising, brutal battle royal on skates. I think for our fans it will be a very fast and hard-hitting bout. San Diego is getting good; they are good, says Shannon Boyles, a skater and public-relations rep for the Rollergirls. One thing we have in our favor is the altitude. Its like having an extra lung.
The match is at 6:30 p.m. at Bladium Sports Club, 2400 Central Park Boulevard. Tickets are $13 in advance, $15 at the door, and kids twelve and under get in free. For the best deal and biggest fun, over-21 fans can get on the party bus for $25, which includes admission to the bout and after-party, lots of free beer, a designated driver and an opportunity to party with other crazed derby fans.
