"One of the most fun things about Denver in the fall is all the layering we get to do,” enthuses Fashion Denver founder and LIBRA Fall Fashion Market organizer Brandi Shigley. This season’s market is called LIBRA because “it’s the sign for October, and the idea of bringing balance to your fall fashion wardrobe seemed like a fun theme.”

You’ll find plenty of scarves, tees, dresses and other chic accessories — all designed for seasonal layering — at the market, today from noon to 7 p.m. Peruse booths displaying the creations of more than 25 local clothing and accessory designers; runway shows at 3 and 6 p.m. will also feature those looks. Local musicians Andrea Ball and Aaron Collins will perform sets before the shows, with additional music provided by DJs Dr. Zen and Kubitza. Admission is $5 at the door; proceeds benefit Dress for Success, which helps disadvantaged women enter the workforce. The market will be held at City Hall, 1144 Broadway, a new venue that Shigley hopes will house her spring, fall and holiday fashion markets for a long time to come. “There is just so much energy in our neighborhood, and it feels really nice to find a space right in the city, so close to everything,” she says.
