The scariest time of the year is here, and what better way to celebrate than by giving your loved ones the gift of terror? Denver’s premier haunted houses are making that easy to do with Family Night at The Asylum and The 13th Floor. For one night, you can treat the whole family to the equivalent of a trip through your favorite horror movie. Don’t worry, though -- there’s very little chance of anyone being disemboweled, despite how real it all seems.
“We try to immerse people into our world in our haunted house. It’s a full-blown theatrical production,” says Kaitlyn Jaffke, marketing coordinator for the 13th Floor Entertainment Group. “It’s like you’re walking into another realm. We try to take people out of their comfort zone and into our world, make them have fun and be scared at the same time.”
Experience the more traditional haunted house, full of monsters and ghosts, at the 13th Floor -- or for those who like their horror gritty and full of slasher-film psychos, there’s the Asylum. Either way, you’ll be getting Hollywood-caliber scares, live and in person.
Get scared tonight at the 13th Floor, 4120 Brighton Boulevard, and the Asylum, 6100 East 39th Avenue. Family-night passes are $79 for four people and include four drinks and popcorn. Single tickets start at $25. Both scare houses are open through early November; for tickets and info, visit getscared.com.
