Show and Tell Launch Party at Beauty Bar: Be there or be square

Here at Westword, we're loving the new blog so much that we've decided to throw a launch party to celebrate with you, dear cyber-surfers, on Thursday, August 5, at Beauty Bar, 608 East 13th Avenue.

Our get-down commingling will coincide with the weekly Project Runway party hosted by the Fabric Lab and Westword cover boy Mondo Guerra, so come on down from 6 to 10 p.m. and follow Mondo's progress on the show, while enjoying live painting, mini-fashion shows during commercial breaks and a $10 manicure-and-martini deal. You can also enter a coloring contest for prizes, and afterward, the adventurous will get to stick around for a Mustache Fashion Show by Baily Rose and friends. There's no cover at the door; see Show and Tell on Facebook for details.

Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
