Jelly wrestling, anyone? Next-door neighbors Beauty Bar and Jelly Cafe neatly define the term “coexist” in their friendly proximity on 13th Avenue; though one welcomes the nightlife and the other operates mainly in the sunlight, the bar and the pancake cafe are joining forces to create a float for this morning’s Pride Parade down Colfax Avenue. But the neighborly theme will then stick through the night, when Beauty Bar hosts the Mondo’s Bitch Slap PrideFest after-party, complete with same-sex jelly wrestling and a DJ set by rapper Cazwell (of “Ice Cream Truck” fame), who is also headlining the PrideFest main stage earlier in the day. Jell-O will double for jelly in the pit, where heretofore-unnamed dueling local gay sports teams are expected to rumble. But here’s the real news from Beauty Bar co-owner Noah Ray McMahan: “I think it’s going to be strawberry.” Just stop for a minute and let that ooze through your brain.

The Mondo Guerra quotient glues the gummy deal: The Bitch Slap will be all-star all the time, with fashion maven Mondo hosting at the mike all night long. The party starts jiggling at 8 p.m. at Beauty Bar, 608 East 13th Avenue; entry is 21-plus, and there’s a $5 cover charge at the door. Get details at http://thebeautybar.com/denver.
