“The stories at the Mainstage are usually humorous and heartbreaking; there’s an element of vulnerability, and it’s a chance for a real connection with people you might never meet in addition to being a great night of entertainment,” Jenness adds. “There are five very different voices involved. It’s a mix of terrific stories that we’ve found nationwide, plus some local voices.
“The stories are crafted ahead of time with a director,” she continues, “and they have a ten- to twelve-minute time limit, which allows the storytellers to delve deeper into the material.”
