Ten Best Fashion Events In Denver in October

Although October is a time for spooky costumes, there are plenty of other fashion events this month to fill your social calendar — and fill your closet. The list includes everything from store openings to a fashion-sketching class. Here are the ten best fashion events in October, in chronological order. 

1. Filson Pop Up Shop and Sale
Fancy Tiger Clothing

From now through November 20, Fancy Tiger is hosting American clothing and accessory brand Filson. Every weekend during October, customers will also receive 10 percent off select items at the boutique. On Saturday, October 15, and Sunday, October 16, customers can receive a discount on vinyl, and on October 22 and 23, jewelry will be on sale. 2. Fashion Workshop: Fashion Sketching 101
6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 12

Local artist Elle Powell will teach a three-hour fashion-sketching class for adults, covering figure drawing of both men and women, including hands, feet, face and hair, as well as different fashion poses. You'll also learn how to draw different fabrics and silhouettes like drapery, pleats, knits, furs, satin,  meshand more. 3. Ralph Lauren Trunk Show
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.Thursday, October 13

4. Armani Collezioni Trunk Show

Swing by the designer sportswear department on the second floor of Neiman Marcus to see the new fall/winter 2016 line from Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani. The Collezioni collection is focused on modern ready-to-wear and is shown at Milan Fashion Week, where Armani is on the Italian Chamber of Fashion. Click here for more information. 

5. GiddyUp! Halloween Fashion Show 
8 p.m. Saturday, October 15
Denver Fashion Truck Brick and Mortar Building

Is fun the new black? GiddyUp! designer Katie Wells is throwing her annual Halloween fashion show. This year's showcase will be held on the sidewalk at the new home base of the Denver Fashion Truck, which stocks the work of over seventy Colorado designers. While you're shopping, you can enjoy the sounds of DJ Postman. Ghouls, geeks, weirdos and werewolves are invited to this Halloween fashion show, which features such looks as a dress made of eyeballs and a brassiere full of baby heads. 6. Love to Give Collection Launch

Neiman Marcus is releasing its annual Love to Give collection, online beginning October 19 and in stores on November 3.  Each Neiman Marcus store gives 10 percent of the sales to youth arts education in Neiman Marcus communities across the country; additional proceeds from online sales will go to the Heart of Neiman Marcus Foundation, dedicated to supporting the next generation of artists across the United States. Click here for more information. 

7. S.T.R.I.V.E. Pres
ents: Stars and Studs Fashion Show

8. Denver Style Magazine Release Party
6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, October 27
Midnight Rambler

Check out this northwest Denver neighborhood when Denver Style Magazine releases its seventh issue. During the party, you can enjoy discounts from surrounding stores while sipping and snacking. Participating establishments include Intrigue Boutique, Honeycomb & Company, Midnight Rambler Boutique, Lombardi's on the Avenue,  Eco Mountain Home Store, Cheese + Provisions, and Bacon House Social. Zombies, monsters, princesses, vampires and witches of all sizes and ages are welcome at this free event. 9. Shaina Mote and Faris Jewelry Joint Trunk Show

Womenswear boutique Goldyn will host this cocktail reception/trunk show with two independent designers: Shaina Mote from Los Angeles and Faris Jewelry from Seattle. While Mote creates chic, transformable wardrobe staples using sustainable materials and local production, Faris crafts sculptural jewelry that transforms complexity into a wearable statement. 10. Uniqlo Grand Opening 
Friday, October 28

The global retailer will open on the 16th Street Mall just in time for Halloween. The new Uniqlo store will occupy 17,000 square feet across two sales floors and showcase LifeWear, the innovative clothing that focuses on design and comfort for everyone, including men, women and kids. Expect a variety of staple pieces, like hoodies or flannels, in a multitude of colors, with a very streamlined presentation. The first floor of the store will even have a dedicated area for Japanese technology items, including HeatTech, showing how Uniqlo uses technical elements in fashion to enhance active lifestyles. Click here for more information.
