First Friday Parking Lot Concert with Selasee & the Fafa Family

6 p.m. Friday, free

A lot of the action will move outside in the Art District on Santa Fe on this First Friday, with live music and parties up and down the street. You can get down with the worldbeat reggae stylings of Selasee & the Fafa Family, then head down Santa Fe for more free music at the Denver Tool Library and at Sheroz, both in the 500 block.

Space in Your Face: Pluto! It's the Coolest!
The Deer Pile
8 p.m. Friday, free

Reach for the stars at the Deer Pile tonight. Professional stargazers and Pluto pioneers Kelsi Singer and Alex Parker will lead a discussion of the pint-sized former planet, punctuated by skits, songs and prize giveaways. Usually this show is on Tuesday, so the Friday festivities could be out of this world! 
South Broadway Outdoor Neighborhood Block Party
Antique Row
10 a.m. Saturday, free

What's old is new again. South Broadway's Antique Row offers the city's best concentration of vintage gear, antique furniture and everything else cool and used. During this block party, you can browse the shops and catch a classic car show, hear live rockabilly music and pop by local eateries for refreshments. Bring the kids to get their faces painted. 

West Colfax Neighborhood Festival

Thanks to Mayor Michael Hancock's Denver Days initiative, there will be free events across town this weekend. Come meet the residents of this area around West Colfax and get free haircuts, food and health screenings; there's also live entertainment and so much more.

Denver Beer Co.'s Fifth Anniversary Party

11 a.m. Saturday, free

Congrats to Denver Beer Co., which has been making delicious suds for five years now — a win for the owners, and a bigger win for us. To celebrate, the brewery will be closing the block, putting up a music stage, bringing in an army of food trucks and letting the beer flow. Bring your swim gear and a top hat, because we hear rumors of a water slide and photo booth.

5 Points Brew & BBQ

Five Points is one of the most historic neighborhoods in the city, just the spot to enjoy some brew and ’cue. Over twenty BBQ masters from around the area will bring out their meaty best, which will be paired with beer selections. After paying the $5 cover, you can fork over more dough for each taste or shell out $40 for unlimited ’cue. The music will be endless, too. Find more info here.
Denver Days: Sun Valley Community Block Party
Ink Monstr
Noon Saturday, free

This Denver Days event is backed by Ink Monstr, so you know the entertainment will be top-notch. There will also be opportunities to make art, activities for the kids, free food and plenty of networking. Half the residents of Sun Valley are under seventeen, and it's the poorest neighborhood in the city; check out this GoFundMe page to help get these kids some school supplies and other gear.

Left Hand Brewing Company is throwing a party featuring nine of the best tribute bands in the area, with acts that pay homage to The Who, R.E.M, The Boss and many more. Bring your chairs and blankets so that you can make a day of it; since the festival is being thrown by a brewery, you know the suds will be as good as the vibes. 
New Amsterdam Vodka Presents "It's Your Town"

Mike Graves and Jaime Molina will be the featured artists at this celebration of street art, presented by New Amsterdam, which will be serving up free drinks all night long.This 21-an-up event that promises to be one arty party!
 
Mile High Soul Club with Special Guest DJ Gordy G

You can't go wrong when Soul Daddies Tyler Jacobson, Steve Cervantes and Jason Heller jump on the ones and twos to pump out all that beautiful soul music — and DJ Gordy G is coming to the party all the way from Pittsburgh. Let's shake, bop and roll all night long.
