Black Sheep Friday: Public Records

Get to this edition of Black Sheep Friday as early as possible to sign up for a special treat. Enjoy live performances from members of bands like Safe Boating Is No Accident, The Milk Blossoms, Ancient Elk and Strange Americans. Don't just enjoy the impromptu session; you can also join in and help the musicians sing. The performances will be recorded onto wax, so you can take your memories home with you on vinyl.

While today marks the inauguration of a new leader, it's also a day to promote awareness, inclusivity and understanding. Thanks to Project VOYCE, we have a place to discuss the future, listen to music and eat a little food, all in the name of getting good folks together. Colorado Coalition for the Homeless Benefit Show

Winter is the toughest time for people experiencing homelessness, so the least we can do is party with Muscle Beach, Dangerous Friends, Major Sports and Hotel Bar to help them out. Proceeds from the show go to the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, whose staff will be on hand to let you know about other ways to help the community.

Here's just a nice way to chill out to some relaxing beats in one of Denver's best artist spaces. MYTHirst, Felix Fast4ward, Old Soul Era and Furbie Cakes will orchestrate, manipulate and produce the sounds for the evening. It's a mashup of down and uptempo beats, hip-hop, garage, lo-fi and everything in between for your Friday.

It's always a good idea to venture over to the Park Hill Supermarket for a new kind of hot sauce or beverage, but today is going to be a special celebration. Ring in the Chinese New Year a week early, just for the heck of it. There will be dragon and lion dances, cooking demos and food samples, treats for the kids, and giveaways, too. Any excuse for a party is a good one.

You should come through if you had a resolution to get yourself in better shape, or if you want some free brunch and are just fine with how you look. All joking aside, this is a super introduction to working out with the folks from FIT36 and practicing High Intensity Interval Training. It only lasts 36 minutes, with food to follow. You also qualify for a free week of classes at a local studio for showing up today.

Shirley Delta Blow hosts a very gorgeous and glittery night of drag performances. Blow's shows are always don't-miss affairs, and the ticket sales go to help the Dorian De Long Arts and Music Scholarship, so it's a win for you and a win for them. See you there.

Get to know the rise and fall of one of the most legendary underground artists you may have never heard of.
