Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

Enjoy these last days of June by discovering new tunes, catching a movie or traveling to galaxies far, far away. We've rounded up our favorite free events below; check out the Westword calendar for even more to do around Denver.

Record Swap Vinyl Nights
Ratio Beerworks
5 p.m. Tuesday, free
Summer is the time to flick on the turntable and chill on the porch with your buds and brews. Head to Ratio tonight to find some new songs at a record-swap party where you can also enjoy craft beer. The folks from Bowman's Vinyl and Lounge will be setting up a mobile shop where you might be able to find more gems to add to your collection.

Film on the Fax: Teen Witch
Illegal Pete's Colfax
7:30 p.m. Tuesday, free
Illegal Pete's finally opened a spot on East Colfax, and this homegrown chain is throwing a free killer party every Tuesday this summer. Tonight's edition includes a comedy set by Sam Tallent, followed by a screening of Teen Witch on the giant 125-inch outdoor screen. If you're one of the first 25 people to say "Film on the Fax" after 7:30 p.m., there could be a very special treat coming your way.

60 Minutes in Space
Denver Museum of Nature & Science
7 p.m. Wednesday, free
Blast off for an hour in outer space! At the museum tonight, you'll get behind-the-scenes stories and enjoy visuals of space travel while you discover what's next for the final frontier. Seating is limited; go here for tickets and directions.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
