Today in Stoke: Epic tales of (mis)adventure from a Patagonian peak tonight at Neptune

Colorado-based climbers "HardCor" Cory Fleagle, Jim Turner and Thom Engelbach got in over their heads last month on an expedition to the Southern Patagonian Ice Field between Argentina and Chile, throwing "caution to the winds" on Monte FitzRoy, but still managed to live to bring home the slideshow.

They're the featured guests tonight at 8 p.m. at Neptune Mountaineering in Boulder, 633 South Broadway, where they'll share their stunning slides from Patagonia and share harrowing tales of trepidation and triumph on their way to the summit. The $3 donation at the door benefits Fundacion Patagonia.

The shop has been featuring similar tales and multimedia presentations from local adventurers and other explorers every Thursday, in what has become one of the most compelling local events series. Check out the full schedule of upcoming speakers, and don't miss round two of Neptune's annual Gear Swap on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. if you're planning on putting together a serious slideshow of your own in the near future.
