Boulder's experimental theater troupe Band of Toughs likes to focus on developing new plays, which means they'll take the time to work a script through many drafts until it's perfect. With that in mind, they're bringing (re)production -- a play-in-process that they performed in a nascent form last year at Naropa University, then took to California and reworked on the strength of audience feedback -- back to the table tonight as a newly retooled dramatic reading. A collaboration by the ensemble with playwright Stephen Wangh, (re)production crosses controversial bridges as it explores the meaning of "choice" as it pertains to human reproduction; in this newest version, the mystical and the divine cross paths with the issues. And in the end, Band of Toughs will turn once again to its audience to help take the work in yet another new direction.

See the free staged reading tonight at 7 p.m. at Naropa, 2130 Arapahoe Avenue in Boulder, or at 7:30 p.m. next Tuesday in Denver at the Laundry on Lawrence, 2701 Lawrence Street. For details, visit www.bandoftoughs.com.
