Twelve Best Fashion Events in Denver in June

The weather is heating up, and so is the local fashion scene. The June calendar is full of fashion shows, fundraisers, shop celebrations and even a poolside party. Here are the twelve best events this month, in chronological order. Looking good, Denver! 12. Spruce One Year Anniversary Party
6-10 p.m. Friday, June 3
Spruce

Tonight Spruce, a clothier and barbershop for men, celebrates a successful year of making men look and feel dapper. The festivities for this first-anniversary party will include the premiere of Spruce's second commercial, food provided by Mile High Mama Catering, beer, wine, and music by the Executive Producer, a local DJ. The party will coincide with Tennyson First Friday events, and Spruce will feature artwork by local artists for purchase. Weather permitting, lawn games will add to the fun. 11. Dolled Up for a Cause

Enjoy a day with the girls as you get pampered. Denver-based fashion designer Salwa Owens is organizing this day of fashion, beauty and purpose that features style consultations, makeup services, an eyelash bar, manicures and hair styling, along with food by DiFranco's and mimosas, at Denver's new beauty salon, Glamour Bar. The event is also a doll drive for the organization Dolls for Daughters; for every doll donated (up to four), guests will get $5 to spend on fashion or beauty treats. 10. Denver Style Magazine Contributor Night 
5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 9

Future fashion bloggers are invited to Denver Style magazine's contributor night. At this open-house event, would-be writers can talk about their ideas and network with other writers. 9. International Gem and Jewelry Trunk Show 
Noon-6 p.m. Friday, June 10
Denver Merchandise Mart
451 East 58th Avenue

The International Gem and Jewelry Show returns to the Denver Merchandise Mart with high-quality jewelry direct from the designers and manufacturers. This trunk show is one of the largest exhibitions of gems, minerals and jewelry in the world. Jewelbrite will offer free jewelry cleaning. Note: Children under nine are not permitted. 8. Annual Millennium All Stars Youth Fashion Show
6-9 p.m. Friday, June 10
Global Village Academy
1702 North Murray Boulevard, Colorado Springs
Head to Colorado Springs to support the Millennium All Stars, a nonprofit cheer and dance team, as it hosts its annual Youth Fashion Show to help kids who don't have the financial means to join other organizations. Click here for information and tickets.  

7. Armani Collezioni Trunk Show

Cherry Creek Shopping Center

Head to the designer-sportswear department on level two of Neiman's in Cherry Creek to see the latest collection from Italian fashion designer Armani Collezioni, a fashion powerhouse since 1975. Click here for more information.

6. Spinster Sisters Grand Opening Celebration
3-8 p.m. Saturday, June 11
Spinster Sisters 
3070 Blake Street
Golden-based Spinster Sisters, a bath and body product manufacturer, is debuting its new retail space in Denver’s River North Art District. The shop is located at Backyard on Blake and will feature the entire collection of Spinster products, handcrafted in small batches with only natural ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible. The RiNo shop will also grow its own lavender, and customers can even make their own products at a DIY station at the new location. Although the new store opens on June 3, the grand-opening celebration is June 11, with refreshments, specials and giveaways. For more information, click here. 

5. ICONS Fashion Show Fundraiser
2 p.m. Sunday, June 12 
4295 Harlan Street, Wheat Ridge
Three local salons — Salon Theory, Hazel & Harley and Rebelle Salon — are joining forces to help a friend in need with this poolside fashion show and fundraiser. Iconic hair and fashion from every decade spanning the 1900s to the 1990s, will be presented on a catwalk suspended above a pool. Highlights will include mermaids, synchronized swimmers, music from DJs Mario Zoots and Jeromie Dorrance, an open bar, appetizers and tarot card readings. 4. Showers of Blessings

This second annual dress drive is organized by Peggy Kastning and Mary Martinez, the two women behind the Urban Angels: You can buy a dress for the little girl in your life for a suggested donation of $25, or purchase a dress that will be donated to a little girl at the Jefferson County Action Center or in Haiti. Donations will go to Love a Child Inc., a nonprofit humanitarian organization serving the needs of children in Haiti. The dress drive will also feature a runway show starring kids in the community, light bites and a chance to win gift certificates to pedicures, hair styling and restaurants, or a dress of choice. Showers of Blessings is free to attend; click here for more information.   
3. Macrame Necklace Party 
7-9 p.m. Monday, June 13
Book Bar Denver

Get creative at Book Bar and learn to make a macrame necklace with Wool and the Gang, a traveling sewing and knitting crew. Guests will receive a kit that contains all materials; after two hours, you'll have your own handmade necklace.
