Two's Company

Date nights are great in theory, but how many dinners-and-a-movie can one couple really enjoy before it becomes a chore? Thanks to Lakewood’s Belmar, we won’t know the answer to that question for another couple of weeks. Date Night at Belmar offers two-for-one ice skating and dining at participating restaurants (which include Baker Street Pub and Grill, Delaney’s Deli, Las Margaritas Restaurant & Cantina and Wystone’s Teas), along with two-for-one bowling at Lucky Strike Lanes, on Tuesday nights. “People are always looking for ways to save money and have fun,” notes Belmar’s Stephanie Jackson. “Date nights in general have become very popular with couples and people wanting to take time out for each other. It’s a fun way to get people excited about something, like, ‘This is something special, just for us.’” Awww.

Stop by the Belmar Information Center for a two-for-one voucher from 5 to 9 p.m. tonight and every Tuesday through December 23; while you and your sweetie are walking arm-in-arm through the lifestyle center, be sure to check out Belmar’s recycled trees and wreaths on display at key locations. “Holiday decora-tions, especially in an outdoor lifestyle center, have a life of three to five years,” Jackson explains. “We were updating the decor altogether, and our recycled trees were so well received that we decided to add something this year.” That something was seven twenty-foot wreaths made from hockey sticks and pucks from the Colorado Avalanche’s 2007-2008 season, wine and beer bottles leftover from Belmar’s Festival Italiano, shopping bags and more.
