Upcoming documentary The Golden Hour needs your help

After Piyush Tewari's cousin was killed in 2007 in a road accident in Delhi, India, that could have been prevented, he decided to do something about it. His family member's life could have been saved, the now 29-year-old discovered, because his death hinged upon the fact that no one helped the injured teen for 45 minutes after the accident. Tewari founded the SaveLIFE in response to the tragedy, a foundation that aims to teach bystanders simple emergency care techniques to help victims of such accidents.

The Golden Hour

, an upcoming documentary hoping to both share Tewari's story and get the word out about his SaveLIFE Foundation. Though the film is set in India, the idea for the project comes from filmmakers Jess Lance and Roma Sur, both based in Colorado, and they need your help. The film crew has begun a

campaign for the documentary in the hopes of raising the funds to get to India over the summer and complete the project. Until then, all pre-production will go on in Denver.

"Generally, a lot of film production in Colorado is outsourced to New Mexico," says film student and Golden Hour crew member Scout Wise. "Our goal as an all-female production staff is to keep our industry in Denver." Wise also says that the while the filmmakers have applied for various grants for the project, reaching its Kickstarter goal would accelerate production immensely and get the crew from Colorado to India by summer and hopefully meet its fall deadline.
