In the wake of the September floods that devastated many Boulder County towns, the City of Boulder and the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art worked quickly to create the Flood Project: Rising Above & Rebuilding Boulder Through Art, a community-building public art project that would both commemorate the floods and promote the healing process. Viviane Le Courtois was one of the artists selected to participate; for her piece of the project, Rescued Memories, Le Courtois gathered small artifacts, drawings and firsthand stories to incorporate into a sculpture that will be displayed in Boulder Central Park, as well as a book of recollections and pictures.

On Tuesday, December 10, BMoCA will host a reception for Le Courtois and other Flood Project groups and artists; following is a pictorial preview of objects, people and places Le Courtois encountered in Boulder, Lyons, Jamestown and other affected Boulder County communities.
