We Love You, Conrad

There's a lot to be said for Lauren Conrad. Like the fact that she practically owns MTV and at least had the sense to dislike Spencer Pratt back in the pre-Speidi years, when poor Heidi Montag had just started dating the douchebag. Conrad's got a clothing line, has been on the covers of Rolling Stone, Seventeen and Cosmopolitan, and has just released a brand-spankin'-new novel, Sweet Little Lies: An L.A. Candy Novel. Take that, Kristin Cavallari, you C-list Laguna Beach bitch!

Sweet Little Lies is a followup to L.A. Candy, which tells the story of Jane Roberts, a woman who moves to L.A. and, seemingly overnight, becomes the star of a popular reality show. She has to deal with backstabbing pals, increasing scrutiny from the public eye and even racy photographs leaking to the press. At least we can say this for Conrad: She writes what she knows. She'll visit ten cities on her book tour, including ours; see her at the Highlands Ranch Tattered Cover, 9315 Dorchester Street. Free numbered tickets for a place in the book-signing line will be handed out with the purchase of Sweet Little Lies starting at 9 a.m.; Conrad starts signing at 7 p.m. Call 303-470-7050 or visit www.tatteredcover.com.
