'Welcome to Fabulous Denver': Best press release of the SIA Snow Show

This week we'll be reporting from the SIA Snow Show at the Colorado Convention Center, January 28-31.

It's the first time the annual SnowSports Industries America trade show is in Denver, kicking off an 11 year contract (the snow sports industry had been convening in Las Vegas for the last 37 years, of all places).

Stay tuned to On The Edge all week for the lowdown on SIA afterparties, cool Colorado companies showing off their goods at the show, and a look at the best and worst in snow sports gear for the 2010/2011 season.

First up, here's our favorite SIA press release (right): The good people at Burton Snowboards seem as stoked to be leaving Las Vegas as we are to have them here in Denver.

¡Viva Denver!

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
