Its basically to bring people to downtown Golden, admits event chair Cheryl Copeland, but its still a good ploy: We have some great shops to visit; we have lots of kids games; theres a trapeze artist down in Parfet Park; weve got the Golden Farmers Market, which has 45 different garden-related vendors; kayak demonstrations in Clear Creek; fly-fishing demonstrations; even Smokey the Bear will be there.

But the centerpiece is the cars, and on that front, the Roundup offers 230 of them, judged in fourteen categories, from Peoples Choice to Street Rod, with 26 trophies.
