Since 2011, The 1up Lodo and its sibling, The 1up Colfax, have been premier destinations for fans of arcade games both new and vintage. And now residents of the southeast suburbs have their own version of 1up, which founder Jourdan Adler just opened at 6864 South Clinton Court in Greenwood Village.

"We took over the old 3 Margaritas," Adler explains, noting that the building has received an extensive overhaul since construction began last May.

The new 1up, which opened to the public at the end of December, has a full kitchen, sixteen-foot ceilings, more than 100 games, and seating for eighty guests, with a patio that holds 48 more customers when weather permits. Adler says that the top eight feet of wall space around the entire bar and gaming area is filled with art from Jason Garcia and Taste Burns, two Denver mural artists.

With a new kitchen and the largest selection of games of the three, Adler has set up the Greenwood Village location as a destination built for the different bar and restaurant habits of suburban residents. "I had to ask 'What do you do to engage everyone?'" Adler adds. "By the time we got to number three, we knew what our customers wanted."

So there are the ’80s classics, but there's also a row of Skee-Ball where couples and groups can have fun together, basketball hoops, the world's largest Pac-Man screen and a rare six-player X-Men game. There are also thirty pinball machines, and the first pinball tournament at the new arcade bar will be held on January 27.

The 1 Up Greenwood Village is open from 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to
1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Kids are welcome from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily if accompanied by a parent.
