Launched several years ago by a bunch of bike-loving friends who liked to have fun, drink beer and wear silly outfits, the Denver Cruiser Ride has attained true critical mass. Every Wednesday from spring to fall, hundreds of Cruisers navigate the city streets donning wigs, boas and cardboard boxes, soaking up plenty of landmarks and cocktails along the way.

"The Denver Cruiser Ride brings together every stripe of rider, from the professional road racer to the novice who hasn't been on a bike since she was a kid," says group founder Brad Evans. "It's about creating fun on the streets of Denver, and making those who stumble upon this roving party wonder what the hell is going on."

The social club on wheels spins tonight with a Winter Olympics theme. The ride, the last of the 2012 season, is free and open to anyone, though admission to pub stops along the way is limited to those of age. New this year, the ride will launch from six sites scattered throughout the city at 6 p.m. Visit www.denvercruiserride.com for the rest of this summer's themes as well as tips for happy Hump Day riding.
Wednesdays, 6 p.m. Starts: May 16. Continues through Sept. 26, 2012
