We are sad to report that longtime participators and supporters of Denver's DIY music community Kristi Schaefer and Ryan McRyhew are packing their bags and heading for Chicago. Known as musical collaborators Hideous Men, the couple will be moving its headquarters to the midwest next month so that Schaefer can continue her education.

Also proprietors of home-based, cassette-tape-minded record label Laser Palace, McRyhew and Schaefer will continue to release music by hometown artists, as well as a whole new cadre of music minds in the Chicago area. You can still catch Hideous Men live for several shows this month, including the Westword Music Showcase this Saturday, June 18 (playing Broadways, 1027 Broadway, at 6:45 p.m.), and the official farewell show on June 30 at Rhinoceropolis. Watch this virtual flier for the duo's farewell performance, created by Milton Melvin Croissant III.
