Click play to witness the awe-inspiring trailer for the 1978 Ozploitation obscurity Stunt Rock. The band Sorcery (owners of one of the worst Wikipedia entries ever) delivers its wizard-filled brand of prog rock. Australian director Brian Trenchard-Smith delivers a buttload of stunts and a meager plot, about an Australian stuntman in LA helping out the band Sorcery and falling in love. And why taunt you with this unknown pleasure, which is unavailable from Netflix or most other easily accessible venues? Because you can see it this weekend! On the big screen!
Stunt Rock is showing Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. at the Starz FilmCenter in the Tivoli building on the Auraria campus. It's part of the Watching Hour series, which won a Best of Denver award from us this year for Best Film Program, precisely for turning us on to gems such as these. And if it somehow hasn't yet convinced you that it's patented blend of stunts and rock will blow your mind, click through to watch two more clips.
