Just in case you're not already planning on being at Artopia tomorrow night (you are planning on being at Artopia, right?), here's another sweet way to spend your Saturday night. How about listening to sweet tunes and literary works while sipping wine beneath two inflatable bunnies? Sound like a bad trip? Just wait until you get a little tipsy and see the eccentric (and sometimes frightening) art on display in the private (read: you'll feel like a baller once you get into) The Dikeou Collection, housed on the fifth floor of the Colorado Building (1615 California Street).
Saturday marks the beginning of the collection's latest reading series, which, in a new move, will feature musical artists in addition to authors. That said, it's fitting that the first musician featured at this mysterious collection is the elusive Edward Almost (Phil Shaw), whose fun, Devendra Banhart-esque folk music borders on avant-garde. Following his performance, Bhanu Kapil, Noah Eli Gordon and David Buuck will read some of their own work.
