Lupe Fiasco Hypes Hillary
You would think that since Lupe Fiasco is from Chicago, raps about the plight of Black men, and is politically to the left, that he would put his support behind his hometown homeboy, Barack Obama. But apparently the Chi-town rapper is putting his money on Hillary, even though he’s not voting in the primaries.
"I'm not voting for anybody," Lupe told SOHH.com. "I don't believe in voting on that level. But I want Hillary [Clinton] to win. Obama doesn't really impress me like that. It's not a shot at him but some of his agendas, the bombing of Iran and all that stuff. He ain't gonna do nothing but perpetuate the nonsense that all the Presidents before have done, and what Bush is doing now. It's to the point now where the world is so twisted and so messed up that we need somebody to come in."
Uh, Lupe, Obama never said he supported the bombing of Iran. And without Lupe's help, the Illinois Senator took Iowa this week and is now looking towards New Hampshire.
C-Murder Joins Book Club
While C-Murder is waiting for prosecutors to prove that he lives up to his name in the shooting death of a teenager in 2002, the rapper has joined a book club that hooks up readers with authors. C-Murder launched the Tru Conversations Hour through the Conversations Book Club this week where readers were able to converse with the rapper about his novel, “Death Around the Corner.” The Tru Conversations Hour will be held at 6 p.m. MST every Thursday through February. Nate Dogg Hospitalized by Stroke
We haven’t heard from Nate Dogg in quite awhile, but apparently he’s still out there singing. Preliminary reports this week claimed that Nate Dogg was hospitalized on December 19 after a heart attack, but an associate of Nate told MTV News the singer had a stroke. He stayed at the Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center in California until December 26 where he was treated for the stroke and then released to a medical rehab facility to assist him in his recovery. Nate Dogg is currently working on a project with the gospel choir he formed called Innate Praise.
Method Man Plays the Big Cheese
The music side of things hasn't been too good to Method Man as a solo artist in the last few years, but the acting portfolio is beefing up. He’s starring in the upcoming film, The Wackness, where he plays the part of a Jamaican drug dealer, and has a small part in the spoof film, Meet the Spartans. But what he’s real excited about is what his character “Cheese,” on HBO’s The Wire, gets into in this season.
"The show gets real deep this season," Meth told MTV News. "It's not to be missed. Cheese, he's that n---a," he added of his nefarious character. "Cheese is making his move in season five. He's a survivor."
Despite the grumblings about his past work and the internal issues surrounding the Wu-Tang Clan’s 8 Diagrams album, Meth is still pushing forward and working on his new album, Crystal Method, which is set to drop in 2008.
