DJ BL3ND @ THE CHURCH | FRI, 4/5/13 Starting out on the West Coast passing out mixtapes, DJ BL3ND quickly caught the ears of clubbers who sought out the most epic parties to get down to. Sporting his mohawked, half-face-covering mask, BL3ND now reaches followers all over the world by speaking the universal language: party music. -- BC
DJ HEATHER @ NORAD | SAT, 4/6/13 DJ Heather grew up in a household in which eclectic music abounded, and as she got older, fate threw mixing opportunities her way, from a gig at a college radio station to a stint programming weekend music at a neighborhood pub. Those experiences led her to explore the ways that DJs at the best clubs in Chicago (including Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Gemini, Lego and many more) put together sets in the late '80s and early '90s, and she quickly picked up on the art of mixing records. Since then, DJ Heather's irreverent, jazzy sound has helped define what Chicago house can be -- and she's been signed to fellow former Chicago resident Farina's Om label, proving her worth as an international tastemaker.
THE POLISH AMBASSADOR @ CERVANTES' | SAT, 4/6/13 Weaving hip-hop and soul into his productions, the Polish Ambassador is staying ahead of the curve in a genre that is evolving faster than the BPMs of the music. Constantly pushing his sound to new levels, he approaches his productions with a seemingly boundless creative energy. The Polish Ambassador returns to Denver with a new album that underscores his readiness to experiment and fearlessly take on new challenges. -- BC
