Not quite sure how we managed to miss this one, but Bill McKay, who sings and plays keys in Leftover Salmon, was arrested at his home on Tuesday morning by Eagle County Sheriff. The musician, who also leads the Bill McKay Band and Double Parked, is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a female that he reportedly met after a gig that the former outfit played in Edwards, Colorado, on New Year's Eve. Yesterday, McKay's Leftover bandmate, Drew Emitt, retracted earlier comments he had made to Colorado Daily's Wendy Kale, essentially asserting that McKay had been fired from the band. Emmitt made the statements assuming that they were off the record. McKay is currently free on a $15,000 bond and due back in court on Tuesday, January 27. We'll obviously have more on this as this story develops.
