Just about every bar -- but not all of them. The Cherry Cricket, usually a popular place for watching the game, oddly chose to close for a major cleaning today.

And for those looking for event with an alternative (very) flavor, the Denver Zine Library is hosting its fifth annual Super Bowl Chili Cookoff. "It's a pretty low-key day," says the library's Kelly Shortandqueer. "We'll have couches and chairs and some music so that people can just come and hang out and chat with Denver zine lovers."

The party starts at 1 p.m. at the library's new home, the 27 Social Centre at 2727 West 27th Avenue; the hungry pay just $3 to $5 (sliding scale) for a bottomless chile bowl.
