Local author Irene Rawlings, a member of Sisters on the Fly -- a nationwide group of women who share old-fashioned traditions -- is signing copies of Cast-Iron Cooking With Sisters on the Fly at Tattered Cover Lodo, 1628 16th Street, tonight at 7:30 p.m. Her fellow sisters will park their trailers in a caravan outside for meeting and greeting. Chomp!, the monthly vegan supper club, takes place tonight at Green Spaces Colorado, 1368 26th Street. The plant-based gathering happens every first Wednesday of the month and is open to the public. Thursday, May 2:
The Irish Network of Colorado is hosting a gala to honor the late Noel Cunningham (of Strings) and his wife, Tammy, for their charity work through the Cunningham Foundation. The event will take place at 240 Union Restaurant, 240 Union Boulevard in Lakewood. Former governor Bill Ritter will present the award. Tickets are $75 per person, $145 per couple and include hors d'oeuvres.

BeerCraving.com presents the South Denver Beer Fest this weekend at Clement Park, 7306 West Bowles Avenue in Littleton. The outdoor tasting features over 100 beers from breweries from all over the country; samples from local distilleries, and cheese and chocolate pairings will be available for VIP ticket holders as well. The festival runs through Sunday, May 5 from 2 to 5 p.m. and general admission costs $40 in advance, $50 at the door. VIP tickets are $85 in advance and $90 at the door.
