Pizza joints are popping up along Broadway, which lost a couple of Mexican mainstays last month. Although Adelita's Cocina y Cantina opened a few weeks ago at 1294 South Broadway, that's still a mile south of where Juanita's and El Diablo closed their doors. Will the opening of a sixth Illegal Pete's later this month at 270 South Broadway help fill the gap?

One reader hopes so.

Says dave_in_baker:

Until recently I would have said South Broadway needs another Mexican place just about as badly as we need more pizza. But with the closing of Diablo and Juanita's, and Senior Burrito having gone seriously downhill over the past year (new management, maybe?), this might be a welcome addition.

Does Broadway need more Mexican restaurants? What's your go-to Mexican restaurant in this part of Denver? And have you tried Adelita's?
