A bevy of beer bloggers will appear on American Craft Beer Radio with Gary Valliere this Saturday when Colorado's newest craft beer radio show takes the air for its third show at noon on 102.3 FM, the local ESPN affiliate. The show will focus on the experiences of bloggers and journalists who have writing about the Colorado craft beer industry for the past few years. Guests include Fort Collins Coloradoan reporter David Young, Fermentedly Challenged blogger Dave Butler, Denver Off the Wagon bloggers PJ Hoberman and Sean Buchan, and myself. Tune in and turn on.

Wednesday, February 22

Freshcraft will tap its 1/6 barrel keg of Pliny the Younger tonight. The beer is a triple IPA from California's Russian River Brewing, and it will sell out immediately. The restaurant will start selling tickets at 5:30 p.m.; once it has sold all fifty, that will be it. The younger costs $10 for a ten-ounce pour.

Boulder Beer will dive into another Whiskey Wednesday today by tapping a version of its Obovoid Oak-Aged Oatmeal Stout, aged in a first-use bourbon barrel for four months. Obovoid is aged on oak chips and released every October. Tapping is at 4 p.m.

Old Chicago will kick off its St. Patrick's Day Mini Tour today with a new beer from AC Golden Brewing, the MillerCoors brand incubator in Golden. The brew, an India Pale Lager, uses four kinds of hops included in many IPAs along with a lager yeast. AC Golden IPL is only available on draft at Old Chicago's Colorado locations.

Thursday, February 23

Join the bloggers from Denver Off the Wagon as they kick off a three-day birthday celebration at the Wynkoop Brewing Company. The blog, which is one year old, brewed a beer at the Wynkoop in January and will tap it tonight at 5:30 p.m. Wagon Ryed is a rye dry stout made with caraway seeds. (See below for the other Wagon events.)

Friday, February 24

Oskar Blues will celebrate the third anniversary of its Tasty Weasel Taproom in Longmont today from 6 p.m. with a party that will also fete the brewery's newest canned beer, Deviant Dale's IPA, due to hit store shelves in sixteen-ounce cans on March 1. Festivities include a BrewSkee Ball tournament, DIY hand-canning, silent disco, and food from the Oskar Blues Bonewagon.

The Yak & Yeti will release its (Yakety Yak) Don't Talk Bock today at 4 p.m. There will be a "Blessing of the Bock" at 5 p.m. with an ordained minister.

The crew from Denver Off The Wagon and friends will reconvene at the Wynkoop at 6 p.m. tonight for a Wagon Ryed Bar Crawl, in which the bloggers will follow the brewery's horse-drawn beer delivery wagon to five other LoDo spots: the Wazee Supper Club, FreshCraft, Euclid Hall, Breckenridge Brewing on Blake, and Star Bar. The beer, a ryed dry stout called Wagon Ryed, will go on tap at each.

Dry Dock Brewing will tap two firkins of cask-conditioned Dirty AC Chocolate Blonde, one at 3 p.m. and the other around 7 or 8 p.m.

Saturday, February 25

Copper Kettle will release two new beers today in the taproom, both are English-style bitters, and they want you to try them side by side in the Battle of the Bitters. The taproom opens at 3 p.m. and the beers, an ESB and a British Best Bitter, will be on draft all day. A food truck will by around 5 p.m.

The Wynkoop Brewing Company will host its annual Beerdrinker of the Year National Finals today at 2 p.m. Three beer-loving contestants will answer questions and explain themselves to judges for the enjoyment of the viewing public. The wig-and-robe-clad judges this year are three former Beerdrinker of the Year winners (Cody Christman, Phil Farrell and Jack McDougall, Wynkoop head brewer Andy Brown, and Jill Redding, the Brewers Association's editor-in-chief of Zymurgy and The New Brewer.

Denver Off the Wagon will enjoy the third consecutive night of Bacchanalia at Star Bar tonight beginning at 7 p.m. when the boozy bloggers continue their birthday celebration by drinking Wagon Ryed, the beer they brewed in conjunction with the Wynkoop Brewing Company, along with beer cocktails, smoked cocktails and other specialties on draft. There will be music as well.

Freshcraft will tap "Step 1" in Left Hand Brewing's new twelve-step series of beers called Ambidextrous Ale. This one is a blend of Milk Stout, Wake Up Dead imperial stout and Widdershins barleywine aged in Stranahan's Colorado whiskey barrels. The 9.2 percent ABV beer "is equal parts dessert and coffee with aromas of dates, vanilla and figs countered by licorice, roast malt and mild espresso," the brewery says.

Upslope Brewing in Boulder and the Denver Beer Co will celebrate the release of a collaboration brew that they worked on together. At 2 p.m., the two breweries will simultaneously tap the results, Belgian-Style Chocolate Cherry Stout. One version of the 10 percent ABV beer was brewed in Boulder and one in Denver. A limited number of tickets will be given out at each tap room good for a glass of the beer at the other one.

Lucky Pie in Louisville will tap its own 1/6 barrel keg of Pliny the Younger today at 3 p.m. Tickets are $9 for a nine-ounce pour. Tickets will go on sale at 2 p.m. and there will only be 55 available, one per person.

Oskar Blues Homemade Liquids and Solids will tap Pliny the Younger today. Fifty tickets (one per person) will go on sale at 10 a.m. The Younger will be poured at 1 p.m. You can show up anytime between 1 and 6 p.m. for your pour, but if you don't arrive by 6, your Pliny will be sold to someone else. Tickets are $12 for a ten-ounce pour.

Falling Rock Taphouse will also tap Pliny the Younger, at 5 pm., The staff will issue tickets to those who pay in advance; everyone who gets a ticket will get a pour. Last year, it cost $8 for a ten-ounce pour.

Monday, February 27

Hurry. You still have two more days to enjoy Stout Month at the Vine Street Pub in Denver, and the Mountain and Southern Sun Pubs in Boulder. And one of those days is the once-every-four-year blessing of Leap Day. So, head over to any of these places to try out their amazing lineups of internally-brewed stouts or some of the stouts on guess taps from locally or nationally renowned brewers.

Tuesday, February 28

Lone Tree Brewing will tap its new aLTBbier today from 5 to 7 p.m. LTB head brewer Jason Wiedmaier found his love for brewing in Germany. The Brewer's Series pays tribute to the German tradition. He'll be discussing the altbier style and how he brews it.

Vine Street, Mountain Sun and Southern Sun will all tap Boulder Beer's Bourbon Barrel-Aged Obovoid today at 4:20 p.m. at part of Stout Month. The beer is based off of Boulder Beer's Obovoid oatmeal stout, then aged in a first-use bourbon barrel for four months. Obovoid is aged on oak chips and released every October. In addition, the pubs will tap Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Aged Ten Fidy from Oskar Blues and Mountain Sun's own Buffalo Trace Barrel Aged Nihilist Imperial Stout. Remember, Stout Month ends tomorrow!
