If you think you're the country's best teen chef, it's time to enter the Art Institute's Best Teen Chef Competition. The contest is open to high schoolers graduating in 2009 with a GPA of 2.0 or better; applicants must sign an entry and release form by this Friday, February 6, and then submit their recipe entries by February 20. (The brochure contains all the specifics about this annual event.)

The winner will get a full-ride scholarship to the art institute of his or choice--ours is located at 1200 Lincoln Street -- and will also get to be an 'Intern for a day' at the Food Network kitchens in New York.

Local cook-off competitions begin March 14 and the nationals, held in Charlotte, North Carolina, will beon  May 9.
