UPDATE:
We have a winner of our Ballpark Plates contest, in which we asked Cafe Society readers to answer this question: How many "bites" of gazpacho did Trillium sell during last year's Ballpark Plates? Congrats to Sinnney85, who guessed 284; the actual number is 299. Skinney85, we'll send you an e-mail with info about how to claim your prize.
Original post: This week is shimmying with culinary festivities, including the Denver Burger Battle, which, as you've no doubt heard by now, sold out on Saturday, but if you didn't get your grubby little hands on a ticket, there's always next year -- and for those of you looking for an alternative diversion for Thursday night, we're giving away free admission to Ball Park Plates to one Cafe Society reader and a guest.

The annual bash, now in its third year, is hosted by the Ballpark Neighborhood Association and includes food and beer tastings from more than thirty restaurants, bars and breweries, all of which are within stumbling distance of one another: River North Brewery, Blake Street Tavern, the Armoury, Zi South, Breckenridge Brewery, Cheesesteak Connection, iFish Sushi, Chino Latino Tacos & Tequila, ViewHouse, Buenos Aires Pizza, Whiskey Bar, Snooze (serving food at Whiskey Bar), Amerigo, The Lobby, Great Divide, Trillium, Biker Jim's Gourmet Dogs, Ignite, El Charrito, Zanzibar, Ginn Mill, Marquis Pizza, Herb's, Mexico City Lounge, Marco's Coal-Fired Pizza, Star Bar, Hi*Rise (serving food at Star Bar), TAG/Huckleberry Roasters at Plus Gallery, RiNo's on Blake, Mile High Vienna Stand, Blue Moon Brewing at the Sandlot, Zanzibar and twelve.
The crawl requires foodniks and imbibers alike to pick up a "passport" from the ViewHouse or Amerigo -- you can choose either location as a starting point -- and within that passport is a map leading you to the participating restaurants and breweries, all of which will serve food and/or libations. "This event not only gives you a chance to sample bites and drinks from your favorite Ballpark neighborhood hot spots, but you can also get acquainted with some of the restaurants or breweries that you haven't been to yet," says Tara Webber, president of the Ballpark Neighborhood Association. All of the proceeds, she adds, "go to the Ballpark Neighborhood Association to improve our community for its residents, businesses and visitors."
Admission to Ballpark Plates, which goes from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., is $30 per person and tickets can be purchased here, but before you unload your wallet, here's how you can win two for free: Tell us how many "bites" of gazpacho Trillium served at last year's Ballpark Plates.
The person who comes the closest to the actual answer without going over, will win. To enter, please submit your best guess, your name and a valid e-mail address (if you're already registered with MyVoiceNation, then we have your e-mail; if you're not, then we don't, and without an e-mail address, you can't win) in the comments section below.
We'll announce the winner on Wednesday morning.
