Odell Brewing is getting ready to host its revitalized Small Batch Festival on May 26 in Fort Collins, and the brewery is asking beer lovers to pick something for Odell to brew. You can go to the brewery's Facbook page and vote (or head to the web site, which was down this morning, but should hopefully be back up soon). Choices include: Addil-Weissen, the Deal Breaker, Green Chili Ale or Tiger Blood Session IPA. Wednesday, April 4

IPApril continues at The Rackhouse Pub all month for a hoppy experience that rivals the Easter bunny. The restaurant will feature ten different double IPAs from Colorado brewers, including Dry Dock Double IPA, Great Divide Hercules, Odell Myrcenary, Oskar Blues Gubna, Avery Maharaja, Ska Decadent and Renegade Elevation.

Friday, April 6

Get a taste of the Vail Valley tonight when Crazy Mountain head brewer Grant Smith stops in at Star Bar from 6 to 10 p.m. to talk beer and drink the brewery's Hookiebobb IPA, Cara de Luna Black Ale and Old Soul Strong Belgian Golden Ale. All three will be on tap.

Firkin First Friday at Hops & Pie features a cask of Left Hand Brewing's rejuvenated Smoke Jumper smoked imperial porter. The mallet drops at 6 p.m.

Avery Brewing in Boulder will celebrate the return of Karma, a seasonal Belgian-style ale with a 5 p.m. tapping at the brewery. The beer is available in stores.

Saturday, April 7

Avery Brewing busts out the second in its new line of seasonal barrel-aged beers today (the first was Rumpkin) at a taproom party running from 5 to 8 p.m. in Boulder. The beer, Uncle Jacob's Stout, named for a distillery-owning ancestor of Avery's Adam Avery, was aged for six month in bourbon barrels, it weighs in a 17.4 percent ABV. Twelve-ounce bottles will be sold at the party for $10 each. Fans can buy up to a dozen, and availability can only be guaranteed during the party.

Today is Session Beer Day (although Avery may not have noticed!), but do you know where your low-alcohol beer is? Read the blog post to find out what that means.

Twisted Pine Brewing's fourth Artisan Ale Project beer, West Bound Braggot, will be released today at 4 p.m. with a fiesta in the brewery's Boulder tap room. A "modern take on a medieval classic," the beer is a hybrid between a mead and ale, the brewery says. "The Twisted rendition began with malted barley, orange blossom honey and Citra hops, before the brewers shifted into adventure mode and added Tasmanian pepper berries and Buddha's Hand to the kettle. Then for the finishing strokes this unique ale was fermented with a Belgian saison yeast." Twisted Pine is releasing an Artisan Ale beer each month; the project is intended so that its brewers can "flex their creative muscles in much the same manner as the local artists whose work is celebrated on each label," according to the brewery. The label for West Bound Braggot features the painting "Running Wild" by Boulder artist Lael Har (who will be on hand to sign bottles).

Monday, April 9

It's Opening Day! Stay tuned to the Beer Man blog for a list of craft beer delights that will be offered on this day.

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse in Loveland will release a seasonal beer called Riffraff at 6 p.m. today at the tasting room. The beer is "brewed in the traditional German fashion, consisting of 51 percent wheat malt and dark munich barley," the brewery says. "Fermented with our weizen yeast strain, this beer has a caramel bready base laced with notes of clove, banana and citrus."
