Red Trolley is picking up speed. When it opened in June, this neighborhood spot at 2639 West 32nd Avenue started by serving coffee, ice cream and gelato, then expanded to lunch (see my Veggie Girl for an example of one recent special). And as of today, Red Trolley is also serving breakfast, starting at 6 a.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. on the weekends.

The breakfast menu includes spinach mushroom or tomato basil egg steamers: two eggs, light and fluffy (and with absolutely no fat since they are steamed with a cappuccino steamer), along with the veggie topping and your choice of cheddar, blue cheese or goat cheese. The dish comes with a popover served with butter and preserves, and is a real deal at $4.95.

And breakfast won't be the last of the innovations at Red Trolley. In a few weeks, when the new drive-through is completed, you'll be able to grab breakfast on the go. And the drive-through will keep the same hours as the rest of Red Trolley, which is open until 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 p.m. Sunday.
