Expect to see some changes at Bacaro Venetian Taverna. Bacaro just marked its tenth birthday, and is overhauling both its menu -- adding vegetarian and gluten-free meals -- and its patio.

After ten years, it was time to refresh Bacaro's look, says general manager Corrado Fasano, who adds that the addition of TVs, a long bench and chalkboards for menus will modernize the place. Both the chalkboards and the benches are coming from Boulder's Recycle Center.

Bacarro also has a new happy hour, with "inexpensive, tasty small plate offerings as a way of addressing the shrinking wallets of customers," Fasano says. "We are changing with the times, and we want to people to go out to eat without the guilt!"

To broaden Bacaro's appeal to sports fans, the menu now includes "two types of ribs, burgers, onion rings, chicken wings and so on," he adds. "We also added some extra inexpensive items to fit even the tightest of dining budgets." For example, mixed marinated olives and mixed roasted nuts are just $2 during happy hour.

Bacaro is located at 921 Pearl Street in Boulder; you can reach the restaurant at 303-444-4888.
