Four notable winemakers, including Andrew Vingiello, a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder, will uncork ten of their wines, many of which strut 100-point ratings from Wine Spectator, on Monday night at Oak at Fourteenth, the Boulder restaurant overseen by grape guru Bryan Dayton and chef Steven Redzikowski, both of whom also own Acorn at the Source.

The four-course dinner, paired with enough wine to make you swirl all the way home, starts at 6 p.m. and costs $150 per person. So why should you go? Aside from the fact that the food at Oak is some of the best in the state right now -- and Monday's dinner trumpets foie gras and black truffles -- the wines from AP Vin, August West, Bonaccorsi, Owen Roe, Loring, Cargasacchi and J.K. Carriere, all of which produce unassailable West Coast pinots, aren't easy to come by, especially under one roof. Aside from that, the Pinot Posse only holds its events in Colorado.

"Oak is the only place in Denver and Boulder to meet these amazing guys and have a laid back experience while enjoying world-class wines," says Dayton. "It's a unique experience for all of us at Oak and our guests, who will have the opportunity to experience the wood-fired cookery that we do at Oak, which just happens to coincide with the perfect season for pinot noir," he adds, noting, too, that he's looking forward to talking wine with Vingiello, who also started the first urban winery in San Francisco. "It's a homecoming for him and his posse," quips Dayton, who will host a meet-and-greet prior to the dinner.

If you can't make this dinner, but find yourself in Colorado Springs over the weekend, Summit at the Broadmoor is welcoming the Pinot Posse on Sunday night, also at 6 p.m. And on Tuesday, January 14, the Posse will descend upon the Little Nell in Aspen.
