We're almost two months into this new year, so it's a good time to throw resolutions out the window. Resolve to stop by Steve's Snappin' Dogs this weekend for a free Hostess Twinkie or cupcake, which Steve's will be handing out to patrons to mark the hot-dog joint's third birthday.
Last year, Steve's went through 1,900 of the pastries. The reason for this," explains owner Steve Ballast, "is our shtick is: 1) We give a sample of our dog every day to every one, first -timers or regulars, 2) since day one, anyone with a birthday or anniversary gets a Twinkie or Hostess cupcake with ice cream and a hot dog hat, and that's young or old."
But Steve's charitable effort's
don't end there. "In addition," says Ballast, "we have started a School Day Out, when a percentage of sales goes to that school's PTA." Then there's Project Angelheart, "our number one charity for our second annual hot dog contest in July," he continues. "We are coming up with an Angel Dog to add to our menu and a percentage of that dog will go to them every day!"
Steve's Snappin' Dogs
