Official, indeed. After months of planning and renovations, the restaurant, a venture of Colorado Bartenders' Guild president and Frasca Food & Wine alum Bryan Dayton, Frasca and Jean-Georges alum Steve Redzikowski and former beverage distributor Annie Polk, is ready to open to the public.

The trio set out to create a cozy neighborhood restaurant, a place where diners in the Boulder Valley could come for upscale twists on North American classics paired with a cocktail or a glass of wine. Many dishes on the menu are prepared by a wood-fired grill that burns, as the restaurant's name suggests, oak.

Oak at 14th opens tonight at 5:30 p.m. Next Monday, it will begin serving lunch, and the following week, the restaurant will start turning out a late-night menu.
