Although Cinco de Mayo celebrations started last weekend, the party begins in earnest today. Among the festivities on tap for tonight:

Vine Street Pub had to reschedule its Smokin' Hot Anniversary Party because of bad weather, and it will kick off today -- rain or shine -- at 4:20 p.m. at Vine Street Pub & (Brewery), 1700 Vine Street. Nothing says Cinco like barbecue and microbrews, including the new Chupacabra beer. For more info, call 303-388-2337 or visit www.mountainsunpub.com.

El Diablo, 101 Broadway (303-954-0324), and its sibling Sketch, 11 West First Avenue (303-484-9305), will join forces to host Cinco Central, Denver's biggest indoor/outdoor Cinco de Mayo party, which will spill onto the new Broadway courtyard. The festivities, including live bands, Mexican barbecue and drink specials, run through Sunday, May 8.

Lola, 1575 Boulder Street, will present a Roast to Spring, with Duane Walker and Drew Hardin of Lola and Brandon Foster of Vesta Dipping Grill. The party includes not just a picnic of pig, but also live music and Republic tequila. The action runs from 5 to 11 p.m.; for details, call 720-570-8686 or visit www.loladenver.com.
