The green scene.

As anyone who’s moseyed across the new Highland Bridge over I-25 can attest, the stretch of 16th Street right there is turning into one of the choicest locales around, thanks to its killer views of downtown and its connection between hopping Highlands and busy Platte Street. No wonder folks are turning it into one big eco block party during the DNC.

The Sustainable Living Roadshow’s "Green Frontier Fest" will set up shop from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. all along the fenced-off street on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 26 and 27. The shindig will feature, among other things, an alternative energy car showcase; green building materials demonstration booths; a "health and healing" pharmacy; a farmers market; a film festival; and a solar stage featuring the likes of US Pipe, Ginger Ninjas and a "no sweat" fashion show. There will also be a beer garden -- and while we don’t know what that has to do with sustainable living, we’re not about to complain.
