Month of Photography 2013 is far from over. A reception from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the McNichols Building in Civic Center, will celebrate an unusual city-curated exhibit, In Camera Abstractions, which explores images manipulated within the camera, without digital effects.

Works in the show, which opened in February, vary from the camera obscura light manipulations of Ethan Jackson and simple color pinhole images of David Sharpe to the double-exposed collaborations of John Davenport and Lincoln Phillips, and Sabin Aell's complex and airy installation utilizing multiple exposures made on slide film.

In Camera Abstractions continues through April 28; the artists will discuss their work tomorrow from 1 to 4 p.m. at McNichols. And another MoP show, Traveling Route 40: Celebrating the Character of Colfax Avenue, will also be showcased during tonight's reception. For information go to the MoP website.
